Woman Sexually Assaulted After Men Act As Ride-Share Drivers

A woman has been lured into a car and sexually assaulted by two men posing as ride-share drivers in Melbourne's CBD.

The 19-year-old female victim was out with friends on July 29 between 11pm and 3am before she was approached by two men.

The men told her they had a ride-share car and would take her home.

The victim got into a silver Toyota Yaris and was driven to Albert Park where she was sexually assaulted.

She managed to punch one of the men before escaping and notifying police.

Investigators have scoured CCTV footage in the months since the assault and believe the men are of Indian or subcontinental appearance, and aged between 25 and 35.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who reportedly spoke to the victim earlier in the night.

He is believed to be a witness only and not involved in the attack.

Anybody with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
