Two Melbourne Train Stations CLOSED For A MONTH From Today

Two stations on the busiest train line in Melbourne are closed, as two others reopen on the Frankston line.

Murrumbeena and Carnegie rail stations are now closed for four weeks. The closures are the start of the sky rail project, which will see nine level crosses removed by elevating the railway between Caulfield and Dandenong.

This week, the installation of two 130-tonne rigs with ‘masts’ up to 30 metres tall will begin.

Cranes will then lift 2500 segments of the elevated rail line, which will mean that trains can continue to run while the works are completed.

For the next four weeks, there will be dedicated bus replacements and adding car parking at nearby stations. There will be no cancelled trains as a result of the closures and works.
