Today Will Be Melbourne's Hottest Day Since MAY

Melbournians are being warned to batten down the hatches as today will be warm but very blustery!

The city will see its first day above 20 degrees in three months, but the Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, BOM forecaster Chris Godfrey says "It’s looking like we’re going to break 20 degrees. If it does it’ll be the hottest day since the 22nd of May.’

“It is significantly above the average for the month of August, which is usually 15 degrees.”

A low-pressure system could bring winds of 100km/h with it!

But the dry-spell isn't set to last, with Friday expected to be rainy and the weekend to follow boasting scattered showers.
