Tinder Users Warned Following Horrific Incident In Australia
A man has been robbed and assaulted after being lured to a late-night dating app hook-up in the early hours of the morning.
The 23-year-old was on his way to a home on Wallis Parade in Bondi at about 12am on Sunday, September 10, thinking he was meeting up with a woman from a dating app.
Instead, the man was chased by a group of three men, one of whom assaulted him and stole his wallet.
Shortly after the incident was reported, police made a number of arrests on Wairoa Avenue, bringing a 20-year-old man, 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy in for questioning.
The 18-year-old has since been charged with robbery, while the other two have been released pending further inquiries.
Investigators are now reminding internet users - and particularly those on dating apps - to take care when meeting up with someone for the first time.
You know the Golden Rule: Pick a bright, busy place to meet, let a friend know when and where you're going and NEVER give out unnecessary personal information like your surname, home address or workplace.
