Severe Weather Warning In Place As Melbourne Cops It!

A severe weather warning has been issued for parts of Victoria and is expected to hit Melbourne.

Strong winds averaging between 50km/h to 60km/h an hour are due to hit locations including Hamilton, Colac, Kyneton, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Mansfield, Corryong and all Alpine resorts.

At their peak the gusts are expected to reach 90km/h to 100km/h.

For outer areas including West and South Gippsland, Eat Gippsland and the Northeast, there will be gusts for up to 110km/h.

At 10am, Melbourne airport had recorded a busy of 89km/h and this expected to increase.

The state emergency service has advised people to move their vehicles under cover, secure or put loose items away and keep clear of fallen power warnings.
