Residents Of This Melbourne Suburb Told To Stay Indoors
Police have been alerted to reports that two rival groups are intending to clash again in Glen Waverley today following another incident on Monday.
"A police operation will be in place to ensure that public order is maintained," police spokeswoman Natalie Webster said.
A private school in the area has recommended that students "avoid the area" this afternoon in a statement sent to all parents.
Wesley College’s Glen Waverley Head of Campus Peter Dickinson said they'd "received advice that the police fear that a follow-up incident may be planned for Friday after school."
"Some of our students may hear about it via social media.
"We know that some of our students often head down to Glen Waverley on Friday afternoon and we are therefore recommending that all students avoid the areas in the vicinity of the Kingsway, the Glen Waverley library, Bogong Avenue or the various fast food outlets in Springvale Road and surrounds after school on Friday."
