Remember Gumbuya Park? Well We Have Great News...

It sounds like something out of a dream or a movie, but a syndicate of smart and obviously kind-hearted people have recently acquired the 166-hectare wildlife and amusement park for just over $4.5 million.

Gerry Ryan (caravan manufacturing tycoon and investor) and Wal Pisciotta (founder of are part of this syndicate, are aiming to give Gumbuya new life.

"It just needs fresh investment, some new ideas and some new marketing. We are still working through the budget, but we will be spending several millions on redevelopment." said Gerry Ryan to the Australian Financial Review.

Their plans include on site accommodation, new rides, and an expansion of the zoo, which currently is home to more than 300 native animals.

Who's excited?! I can't wait to get back down that toboggan again!!
