Police Release Warning To EVERY Melbourne Pet Owner
Police have released a warning to all Melbourne pet owners following, to help them find a dog killer.
A horrific animal cruelty case unfolded at a home in Craigieburn on Thursday last week when a person taped around animals head until it suffocated.
It is believed the culprit entered the backyard of the Abercarn Avenue property before approaching rescue dog Toby.
Duct-tape was then applied to the entire head of the Staffy cross dog, causing it to suffocate. “Toby was a nine-year-old rescue dog and described as very friendly in nature,” he said.
“This incident has understandably caused the owner great distress and we would like to find the person responsible as soon as possible.”
The dog’s owner, a 71-year-old woman, was too distressed to speak.
Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
