Police Release Photos Of Clothes Likely Worn To Kill Woman

Victoria Police have this afternoon released imagery of the clothes they believe the killer of Isreali student Aiia Maasarwe wore during her murder.

The items were found in Bundoora and comprise of a black and grey top, along with a black 1986 baseball cap.

Maasarwe’s body was found in scrub near a shopping centre in Bundoora on Wednesday morning by a passer-by and homicide detectives believe it likely the woman had been on the route 86 tram from Docklands overnight.

Police are looking to talk to anyone who removed anything from the scene and anyone who may have been travelling on the number 86 tram which runs from the city to Bundoora, particularly from the times between 11pm and 1am this morning to (make contact).’

It is unknown if the attack was at random.

Inspector Stamper went on to say "We would ask for anyone that may have dashcam footage, CCTV or may have seen anything here that could be a small piece in the jigsaw puzzle to contact Crimestoppers," he said.

If you have any information, you can contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
