Police Are Searching The Yarra River After Car Drove In

Emergency services are searching the Yarra River in Melbourne’s CBD after reports a car entered the water.

The car is believed to have entered waters near the Swan Street Bridge at around 11PM on Monday, according to the Herald Sun.

Police divers and SES crews are searching the waters near Batman Avenue, where the car reportedly sunk.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Rodger told the Herald Sun that the car simply drove in the water and floated down the river.  

'A couple of witnesses have had a conversation with the female and told her to get out but she made no attempt, she just said ”I’m not getting out”.'

The car is yet to be located.
