A Melbourne Man Has Been Held At Gunpoint In A Car

A man was held at gunpoint in a car near the Shrine of Remembrance last week before he ran away from the car into a garden nearby after a shot was fired.

Victoria Police’s Emobona taskforce, who are investigating armed robberies are appealing for witness to the incident.

Police know that a man was in a car in Bromby Street and was held against his will on Wednesday before 7:30 PM. He was not injured and called the police once the car had moved.

The car was a blue BMW dead or black vehicle that is very similar to a Lexus. One was spotted leaving the scene of the incident.

Police believe the victim may have met up with the unknown man in a car earlier that evening in Dorcas Street, South Melbourne.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
