One Of Our Suburban Shopping Centres Is Getting A Revamp

The owners of The Glen shopping centre have unveiled a grand plan to give Glen Waverley's The Glen Shopping Centre a full transformation and upgrade.

The first stage of the $490 million which will be focusing on the Fresh Food Market Hall will be opening before the end of 2017.

The overhaul will also bring in Aldi, as well as a second Food Precinct.

The redevelopment will also bring a 8000 square metre David Jones, and 240 retailers spanning over 78,000 square metres!

Co-owner, Vicinity Centres chief executive Angus McNaughton spoke with the Herald Sun about the revamp.

“The new Glen will elevate the customer experience to create a boutique destination where foods, fashion and people come together,” he said.

“The redevelopment is inspired by international trends and the latest store fit-outs.”

It's also been reported that over 2300 jobs would be created as a result of the upgrade. This figure includes over 1100 contruction jobs, and 1200 retail and hospitality positions.
