Melbourne, Brace Yourselves For A Cold, Windy Journey Home
If you’re anything like me, you’ll be cursing yourself for forgetting your umbrella today. If you have your brolly with you, you’re probably frustrated because strong winds keep blowing it inside out.
Melbourne weather - it's no wonder they want to put a roof on the MCG...
If you were hoping for a burst of good weather during your commute home this afternoon, we're afraid we have bad news.
According to The Age, Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Dean Stewart said Melburnians can expect the temperature to drop even more as the cold front sweeps through.
"We're not going to end up with a large quantify of rain - just a few millimetres by the looks of things," he said.
"But we are going to get some pretty cold winds. The temperature is on its way down and will continue to fall with that bit of precipitation as well."
Hold on, it's blowy! The wind is at 48 km/hr comin' 'atcha from the Southwest. #melbourne— Melbourne Weather (@MelbourneWeathr) November 7, 2016
And those wild winds that have been lashing Melbourne?
"The winds will ease off towards the later part of the afternoon and evening," Mr Stewart said.
"It will feel quite cold after the warm morning. But in the middle of the week it'll be mostly dry. Even tomorrow, there's just a slight chance of some morning drizzle about."
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be relatively mild.
Don't get too excited about having knock off drinks in the sunshine this Friday, the rain is expected to return with a vengeance - with a wet weekend ahead.
Stay warm Melbourne, 'Summer' isn't far away...
