Melburnians Labelled A '"DISGRACE'' Over Their Behaviour

Fitness fanatics in Melbourne have been slammed as a disgrace after they began leaving coffee cups and water bottles on the memorial plaque at the 1000 steps.

A resident from the Basin shared a photo of the rubbish on Facebook showing the amount of rubbish left behind at the popular Upper Ferntree Gully tourist spot.

“If you’re the one doing this you are a disgrace, best country in the world and this is how you treat it,” Mr Waack posted.

It was reported earlier in the year that people had begun leaving coffee cups behind but it appears the situation has now got out of hand.

The council has been trying to rectify the problem by inserting more bins into the area and have also implemented a ‘carry in, carry out’’ police in all national parks.

There has been no comment from the cafe which sells coffee at the landmark.
