Melbourne-Wide Arrests Over A Spate Of Carjackings

Eight teens from all over Melbourne have been arrested in relation to home invasions and carjackings that all took place within an hour.

At around 5AM on Sunday morning, eight male offenders surrounded a car at Point Cook, attempting to open the doors.

They ended smashing the rear window but the victim managed to drive away, collecting two of the offenders while feeling.

Over the next hour, there were reports of aggravated break-ins at Williams Landing and Tarneit, with the thieves fleeing in a black Holden Commodore and red Ford Festiva.

Police arrested two teens at a vacant home in Tarneit late Sunday.

Those arrested are all males and include:

• A 14-year-old from South Yarra.
• A 14-year-old from Frankston.
• A 16-year-old from Fitzroy North.
• A 16-year-old from Tarneit.
• A 14-year-old from Burnside.
• A 15-year-old from Kings Park.
• A 15-year-old from Carlton.
• A 16-year-old from Tarneit.
