Melbourne To Get Hit By Heavy Rain As Victoria Gets Struck

Trees have been blown down and there are reports of flooding as the storm that plunged South Australia into darkness hits Victoria.

While Victoria has missed the worst of the storm, the state emergency service has still recieved calls, telling the Herald Sun ‘’“Most of those calls were for trees that had blown down,” he said.

“We would expect that number to jump a bit as the sun comes up and people wake up and survey their properties, but it does look like Victoria was spared the worst of the weather.” Alpine areas recieved the states strongest winds with Mount Hotham recording speeds of 145km/h.

Heavy rain will hit Victoria or the next two days and emergency services will closely monitor North East and North West Victoria which is still swamped by recent floods.

But only a few showers are predicted for the Grand Final parade and the big match.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting afternoon showers tomorrow with rainfall of up to 4mm.

Grand Final day will have a little rain but will clear up for the big game!
