Melbourne Set To Get Hit By A New Major Virus

Melbourne is set to get hit by a new strain of gastroenteritis in the coming months after researchers identified a new strain of the norovirus.
The Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory has found a new variant of the GIL4 strain, and they predict it may be the next global pandemic.
Norovirus is the most common form of gastro, and it can last between 2-3 days.
While all ages can be affected, it mainly breaks out in childcare or aged care centres. A health alert has been issued as there is no immunity to the strain.
The best way to avoid it? Wash your hands!
