Man In Hospital After 'Altercation' With Security Guards

An alleged thief is in hospital after fighting with security guards who were trying to arrest him at Frankston’s Bunnings Warehouse.

The man was approached by security after they thought he was trying to steal items inside the Gertrude Street store.

A ‘physical altercation’ then ensued and the man suffered from a medical condition in the car park, Victoria Police spokeswoman Amara Rostock said.

“A man was arrested by security guards for shop-theft at Gertrude Street, Frankston. It is believed the man was involved in a physical altercation with the security guards and has subsequently suffered from a medical condition,” Ms Bostock said.

“The SES have attended to put up tarps in the car park to preserve the scene.

“Police will investigate the incident.”

Ambulance Victoria confirmed they were called to the scene at 11:10am.
