Hackers Attack Melbourne Hospital And Demand Ransom
Cabrini Hospital in Melbourne has suffered a cyber-attack at the hands of an international crime syndicate, according to The Age.
The hackers have scrambled the data of 15,000 patients from the not-for-profit Malvern hospital meaning staff haven't been able to access the files for weeks.
The crime syndicate, believed to be from Russia or North Korea is demanding a large cryptocurrency payment to decrypt it.
Australian security agencies are investigating the breach.
