FINALLY! Our Montague Street Bridge Problems Will Be SOLVED!
It looks like the Montague Street Bridge will finally get something we have all be hoping for.
Can confirm works will kick off on the @MontagueStBridg from 0700 Saturday morning for install of electronic low bridge gantry— Jimmy Traffic (@JimmyTraffic) May 18, 2016
After being hit 102 times, the bridge will got an electronic low hanging gantry.
Vic Roads have confirmed that the works will begin on Saturday but it will not be in place for at least 2 weeks as there is a lot of digging to be done!
David Teague, road manager at VicRoads spoke on 3AW, saying ''You will hit little paddles, so you'll hear and hopefully feel that you stopped the panels, and so you will stop before you hit the bridge.''
The paddles will sit on gantries on both approaches to the bridge.
