Father of Melbourne Murdered Girl Wants Justice
The grieving father of a young Melbourne woman who was murdered while travelling in Africa hopes her "bastard" killers are caught.
Paul Warren was expecting to see his daughter Elly Rose Warren return from Africa this week, but instead learned she had been found murdered and sexually assaulted in a toilet block in Mozambique.
"I just hope they catch the bastards," Mr Warren told AAP on Thursday.
"They've got to do something."
Ms Warren was on a diving trip in Mozambique, and had an interest in marine life and the ocean.
She was about to start a marine biology degree in Townsville.
Tributes for Ms Warren flowed on Thursday, with her family and friends posting on social media.
"She had such a beautiful heart that wanted to travel the world diving all the waters, exploring caves and swimming with all different fish," Ms Warren's boyfriend Luke Tempany said.
Her father is now contemplating a life without her.
"She was a lovely girl and I'm not going to see her again," he said.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it is providing assistance to the family.
