Her death was described as a "crime that strikes the heart of our community" by police, who launched a public appeal for information before her alleged killer's arrest earlier this month.
It came amid a string of high-profile deaths with alleged links to domestic violence, prompting Premier Daniel Andrews to say the state had a long way to go to tackle the issue and call for a national response.
Family and friends are expected to gather at Cowes for a funeral on Friday.
The man charged with murder is due to face a Latrobe Valley magistrate on January 10.
