Dramatic High Speed Chase On Melbourne Freeway
Armed thieves have led down police on a chase down Melbourne’s Nepean Highway.
It came after the thieves robbed a Caltex service station in Mornington earlier this morning.
Police are now investigating a burnt out car, which is believed to be a getaway vehicle, for clues to the robbery.
A service station attendant is said to have locked himself in the back room of the service station after two offenders smashed a front door and forced their way in.
It is reported they stole cigarettes and money before feeling before spotted driving a Holden Commodore on the Nepean Highway.
Victoria police spokeswoman Amara Bostock said “Police engaged in a pursuit which lasted a short time and are now investigating,”
“No one was injured in the incident.
“Police located the car burnt out a short time later in Narre Warren.”
Police are now hunting the pair and anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
