Christmas Hams Recalled Over Health Fears
If you’ve purchased a leg of ham for Christmas day, you’d better check your fridge now.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand has recalled the 4.5kg Vic’s Meat bone-in ham half leg over listeria fears.
Customers should check for hams with the best-before date of January 29, 2019.
The product was made available for sale at Victor Churchill NSW, Simon Johnson NSW, VIC and WA and Vic's Meat Brisbane.
Customers are urged to return the ham to their place of purchase for a full refund.
Vic’s meat wrote on their Facebook page:
‘Your health and trust is our first and last priority.
‘We are currently conducting a detailed investigation to determine how our meticulous processes, which span two decades, may have been compromised.
‘All other hams and products are unrelated and present no risk.’
Listeria can cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn child, the elderly and those with low immune systems.
