Chadstone Shopping Centre Forced Into Lockdown
The Chadstone Shopping Centre car park has been evacuated after an incident this afternoon.
More than 40 firefighters from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade are working to contain the fire.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 1:30pm.
"There will be some traffic disruption in the area surrounding the incident and number of people have been evacuated from the centre."
There are no reports of injuries, and the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, police added.
Emergency Victoria have issued an Advice warning for people in Chadstone, Hughesdale, Malvern East and Oakleigh.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed the fire in the car park was accidental due to a vehicle fault. People are urged to stay away from the area.
