Bomber Thompson To Return To Court Over Drug Charges

AFL great Mark "Bomber" Thompson is due to return to court over drugs charges linked to a police raid at his Melbourne home.

Thompson, 54, was charged after police allegedly found bags of illicit drugs in a locked room alongside Geelong club memorabilia at his Port Melbourne address.

The premiership player and coach is facing seven drug-related offences, including trafficking and possession.

Methamphetamine, ecstasy, LSD and MDMA were allegedly found in plastic bags during a raid on January 5.

Some of the drugs were found in a small room protected by a keypad that investigators allege only Thompson could access.

Thompson is due to face Melbourne Magistrates Court for a hearing on Tuesday.

The football great played in three flags with Essendon and later coached Geelong to two premierships.

He was an assistant coach at the Bombers during the supplements saga that surfaced in 2013.
