Another Melbourne Shopping Centre To Get A HUGE Expansion
There’s some good news for residents of the suburbs around Chirnside Park Shopping Centre as, after years of talk, the centre looks to be getting an expansion.
The centre will include up to 30 new stores, an open-air health and well being Harden as well as community spaces.
However, if you want to be in with a shout of what is going into the two story shopping centre, Stuart MacLeod-Smith has told Leader newspaper, the GPT group had a wishlist of potential new retailers but is looking at “brands missing for the centre” but not major department stores.
“It’s not an Eastland-type development, we’re not trying to compete with big regional centres,” he told Leader.
“We still want a community-type town centre for Chirnside Park and the surrounding areas.” “We have our ideas, but we really want to know what the community wants in terms of retailers and usages,” Mr MacLeod-Smith said.
In my honest opinion, they need to make sure they keep Fudge's cafe.
Construction should be underway by the end of the year but a timeline has not been finalised.
