Disney Star Arrested For Trying To Have Sex With 13-Year-Old

Stoney Westmoreland, who plays the grandfather of the title character on Disney Channel's 'Andi Mack', has been arrested for attempting to arrange a sexual liaison with a 13-year-old.

actor Stoney Westmoreland has been charged with trying to lure a minor by internet or text, as well as 'dealing in materials harmful' to a minor.

It is alleged that the 48-year-old began communicating with the 13-year-old after matching with them on a dating app.

According to a police affidavit, the actor repeatedly requested inappropriate images from the teen, and also sent the victim pornographic photos in return. Westmoreland later attempted to meet the teen for sex after ordering a car from a ride-sharing app to pick them up.

The 'Andi Mack' star was immediately taken into custody by the Salt Lake City Police Department and FBI Child Exploitation Task Force.

"Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series ‘Andi Mack,’ was arrested in Salt Lake City today," a rep for Disney Channel said in a statement.

"Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week."

'Andi Mack' follows a 13-year-old student and her best friends as they attend middle school. The age of the alleged victim is the same as the show's central characters and the actors who play them. It has also been reported that the show is regularly filmed at Salt Lake City's Wasatch Junior High.

Westmoreland has appeared in 37 episodes of the Disney show, as well as 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,' 'Scandal,' 'Breaking Bad' and 'Better Call Saul'.
