Adelaide Bunnings Store In HOT Water Over Dangerous Incident

When Margaret Mary Letcher, 66, visited her local Bunnings store in Woodville, the last thing she expected was to end up in a legal battle with one of Australia's largest household hardware stores.

Margaret has launched District Court legal action against Bunnings after falling over in their store in September 2011.

She required hospital admission, after she slipped and fell on an unspecified substance, injuring her leg and wrist. The family believes the spill could have been oil or sauce.

According to The Advertiser, the mother-of-two accuses the company of negligence that left her needing hospital treatment and surgery for her injuries.

She is seeking undisclosed damages, “gratuitous services” such as nursing, future care costs, legal payments and interest.

Bunnings denies it is at fault or negligent and wants any potential damages payout reduced because of a shared responsibility.

Neither party would comment outside court ahead of a directions hearing this week.
