15-Year-Old Melbourne Bikie Charged With Shocking Offences

A 15-year-old boy with alleged Rebels bikie links has been charged along with six men after a series of police raids in Melbourne's northwest.

Officers from Taskforce Echo and the National Anti-Gangs Squad executed eight warrants early on Tuesday at residential properties in Brookfield, Kurunjang, Aintree, Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit, Essendon and Sunshine.

Detective Superintendent Peter Brigham said a number of items were seized including a shotgun, ammunition, three motorcycles believed stolen, prohibited weapons and cannabis.

"This is a group we know have traditionally been involved in violent crimes such as shootings, as well as serious assaults, arson, drug trafficking and extortion," Supt Brigham said.

Six men were charged with a range of offences including blackmail, extortion, aggravated carjacking with a firearm, vehicle theft, false imprisonment, making death threats, obtaining property by deception and possessing prohibited weapons.

All are expected to face Melbourne Magistrates Court.

A 15-year-old Kurunjang boy was also arrested and charged with offences including extortion, making death threats, aggravated carjacking with a firearm and blackmail.

He is due to face a children's court.

Tuesday's arrests form part of a wider investigation into the activities of the Rebels gang across Victoria.

The operation has led to a number of significant arrests so far this year in relation to several alleged incidents, including an arson attack at Harkness in February and a shooting in Melton on February 16.

Police also continue to monitor links to a range of businesses to ensure profit generated is not used to fund crime.

* Brookfield man, 28

* Hoppers Crossing man, 28

* Aintree man, 28;

* Tarneit man, 29
