THIS Melbourne Suburb Spends THE Most Money Online In Aus

Point Cook has been named Australia’s online shopping capital in a new major study of internet buying habits.

Melbournians are flocking to the web for fashion, and it’s growing faster than our nearest rivals in Sydney.

The fastest growing suburbs are Brunswick Eats, Abbotsford, Collingwood, South Yarra and Fitzroy according to new Australia Post analysis.

Richmond, once the shopping mecca for Melbourne is now busier online for fashion, as young busy business people choose to us their phones to purchase instead of going to the shops.

Ben Franzi, the head of Australia Post’s eCommerce platforms said ‘’When people are time poor they also do short ‘snack’ shopping on their smartphone or tablet. They don’t have the time to walk around Chadstone or other shopping centres for a few hours,’’

Australia Post’s total online spend rose 12 percent last to $10billion, with fashion and variety stores accounting for half of that spend.
