There's A Very Simple Cure For Bad Breath

Do you suffer from bad breath? We've discovered an easy way to get rid of it.

The Bad Breath Doctor is here to help, to solve your foul breath worries.

During a segment on UK daytime TV show, This Morning, Dr Harold Katz bit into a raw onion like an apple - kind of like a certain former Prime Minister?

But Dr Katz bit into the onion like Tony Abbott to prove a point - bad breath can be a thing of the past.

He measured his normal breath - pre-onion - which gave a reading of 94 per billion.

But after he bit into the onion, his breath skyrocketed to over 1,400 per billion.

While usually we would be itching to reach for the mouthwash, but as that isn't always on hand, Dr Katz recommends a handful of berries and a sip of water.

“It’s important if you’re at a party and you don’t have the mouthwash, sip a little water or nibble on some berries to keep your mouth as moist as possible,” he said.

If your mouth stays hydrated and is producing saliva regularly, you reduce the chances of bad breath.

One of the main causes of bad breath is a dry mouth.

This is usually because if you haven't stayed hydrated, have been sleeping or travelling, your body slows down the production of saliva.

This dryness leads to dead cells on your tongue, which bacteria breaks down - leading to bad breath.

The most effective way to keep bad breath at bay is to clean your tongue at the end of every meal, which lowers the sulphur compounds that build up.

But if you're just looking to splurge out on garlic prawns at your Christmas party, a quick, easy fix is a handful of berries and some water.
