Kaufland is a one-stop-shop that sells groceries and general merchandise. They're known for their highly competitive pricing and sell their own brands and discount label.
Sound familiar? Yes, Aldi's position as one of Australia's top discount supermarket chains could be seriously under threat.
Reports say the Schwarz Group is Germany's third-biggest grocer, with €34.5 billion ($AUD49.4 billion) in annual sales. In comparison, Aldi Group achieved €27.8 billion in sales.
The decision to enter Australia has not been finalised.
