6 of the Best Places To Get Sushi In Melbourne

Sushi has come a LONG way since it was first introduced into Melbourne and Melbournians everywhere have embraced and love this Japanese staple! 

Suchi is a healthy, cheap and 'on-the-go' snack and is therefore, VERY popular for us busy Melbournians! 

However the food industry picked up on this and thousands of sushi stores have opened, leaving us spoilt for choice. Yet not all produce that quality sushi that we desire.. so we've sifted through and found you the best!

Our list ranges from cheap and cheerful to some of the coolest asian restaurants in town.. enjoy! 

Kenzan 

Feeding Melbournians since 1981, Kenza is located very centrally, on Collins Place, up the Paris end of the city. This restaurant is known for delivering the best sushi in the city, serving traditional, clean and simple sushi platters.

Sozai (My Fave!)

Located in Armadale, this one is a huge family hit! They are short on sauces and glazes, opting to serve only the freshest and healthiest version of our Asian favourite. Open seven days, the restaurant is lovely to sit down in (two storey) or just grab takeaway form!

Ichi Ichi Ku

A HUGE hit among instagram celebs, this South Yarra restaurant not only serves awesome sushi, soups, baked treats, smoothies and sake it is a seriously hip place to be 'seen' at!

Pink Ginger 

If you're after a quick takeaway fix, this Chapel Street Sushi store is the place to go! They offer a range of hand rolls made with both white and brown rice, pre made sushi and sashimi platters.

Mr Miyagi 

This restaurant hosts a trendy and new take on traditional Japanese food in a funky, vibrant space on Chapel Street in Windsor. Always buzzing, especially at night, this restaurant and their sushi is a must!

En Izakaya 

This Carlisle Street favourite serves their sushi in a very traditional manner. The menu is divided into three sections; 'From the Garden', 'From the Sea' and 'From the Paddock'. You can grab a spot at their bar and watch the all-Japanese kitchen roll up your sushi with truly professional precision!
