Hip-hop legends Tupac and Notorious B.I.G are still massive influences on music culture today, yet their murders (1996/97) are still unsolved.
The mysteries behind their deaths have been the focus of numerous documentaries over the years, but now a scripted true crime series called "Unsolved" about the rappers murder investigations is in the works.
According to Variety, USA Network's "Unsolved" will chronicle the two major police investigations into the separate murders of Tupac and Biggie Smalls.
The experiences of former LAPD Detective Greg Kading, who led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the deaths, will feature heavily in the series. His book "Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations," will serve as source material for the show and he will consult on the pilot and serve as co-exec producer.
True crime heavyweight Anthony Hemingway ("American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson"), is set to direct the pilot.
