This Melbourne Suburb Is About To Get A Posh AF Food Court!

David Jones is set to open up an amazing food hall in Melbourne as it moves towards its new set up of mixing food with fashion.

The 550sq food lovers paradise will open in the Malvern Central store next March and follows the stores offering at its Bondi Junction store.

It means the chain will now have two food stores in Melbourne  at Malvern along with its existing older-style food hall at the flagship Victorian store, in Bourke St Mall.

The majority of the food sold will be under the stores own label but celebrity chef Neil Perry will have some input.

“We are excited to introduce to Malvern a premium food retail offer focused on convenience, provenance, freshness and taste that will complement our existing fashion, beauty and homewares offering,” David Jones food group executive Pieter De Wet said.

“Malvern Central is the ideal location for this offering, with an accessible centre that lends itself to convenience food shopping and a local customer whom we know are well-travelled food lovers with high expectations for food quality and freshness.
“We are confident the new David Jones Food proposition will resonate strongly in this area.” The new area will create 50 new jobs in the area.
