The One Thing You Never Realised About Solitaire
It was one of the first computer games that was embraced by all, but there’s one secret behind Microsoft’s Solitaire that will leave you scratching your head. The creator wasn’t paid a cent.
Wes Cherry, an intern at Microsoft, developed the game in 1988 on his downtime. Mr Cherry has remained relatively unknown until now.
“I came up with the idea to write Solitaire out of boredom really,” he said.
“There wasn’t really many games at the time, so we had to make them," he continued.
The game was released on computers everywhere in 1990 and Microsoft says was incorporated to help people learn to use their mouse.
Instead it created a fun time waster for all. Thank you Wes!
