If You’re Using Microsoft Windows You NEED To Know This

Do you use Microsoft Windows 7? If so, you NEED to update your computer ASAP!

This follows a major Hollywood hack that saw un-aired episodes of the Netflix original, Orange is The New Black held ransom for $178,000.

In an interview, David Dondorf, chief engineer of Larson Studios explained that a computer running with Windows 7 allowed hackers that go by the name ‘The Dark Overlord’ to gain access to the Netflix content and hold it for ransom.

Dondorf told Variety that ““They were basically just trolling around to see if they could find a computer that they could open.”

Unfortunately this ‘trolling’ cost the company a large sum of money when they realized that paying the ransom was the only way to stop the leak of un-air episodes.

Mr Larson of Larson Studios said it was a matter of paying the money so that “they would return the materials, destroy the materials and it was over. This is the was they work.”

Released over 8 years ago, a representative from Microsoft announced that “Today, [Windows 7] does not meet the requirements of modern technology, nor the high security requirements of IT departments.”

Obviously, Larson Studios missed that announcement!

Have you upgraded your computer of late?!?!
