Historic Saint James' Church In Brighton Goes Up In Flames
It is too early to determine what was the cause of a fire which has caused horrific damage to an historic church in Melbourne's bayside suburb, Brighton.
Firefighters were called to St James Church, on the corner of North Road and Saint James Close at 6:40am Monday Morning the 30th of March to find the 123 year old church engulfed in flames.
The fire was brought under control at 7:30am. Meanwhile, Bayside residents were told to be aware of flying embers and most stayed inside to be safe.
