Hanson Say You’ve Been Singing ‘MmmBop’ Wrong The Whole Time
Did you know it’s been 20 years since ‘MmmBop’ was released?
Yep, it’s the song that appeared on the band’s independent demo of the same name, not the version that appeared on their debut album, ‘Middle of Nowhere’.
THAT 20 year anniversary will come May 2017.
In addition to revealing to Vulture that puberty definitely forced them to adjust a few of the high notes, the band also revealed they’ve NEVER heard a good cover of the song.
“You know why? People can’t sing the chorus right. Most of the time they syncopate it wrong,” eldest Hanson brother Isaac explained.
"If Bruno Mars were interested, he'd probably find a way to kill it."
Also, interestingly, they revealed that they came up with ‘MmmBop’ while trying to find a catchy background for a song from a previous album, then decided it was so catchy it deserved to be its own song.
It got shelved for about a year, until Isaac walked into the living room one day after doing his math homework and found Taylor playing around with it.
