TV executives are officially lining up to get their shows on Gogglebox.
The Herald Sun’s Confidential section has reported that the Foxtel show is such a hit with producers at rival networks that they want to have their programs reviewed on national TV - good or bad - because it gets their shows talked about.
The show features families and friends sat around watching the weeks television while reviewing it and leads to some hilarious moments.
Gogglebox’s executive producer David McDonald said many TV bossed loved seeing the cast's reaction to their shows.
“I have heard from many editors and producers who enjoy watching the candid reactions because so many of them they can see the ratings or reactions on Twitter but the show allows them to get a sense of how different plot lines or segments are received,” McDonald said.
For shows that get no press, Gogglebox is their chance to win a wider audience, with shows like ‘You Can’t Ask That’ getting huge figures for the ABC’s
Gogglebox airs on Foxtel Lifestyle on Wednesday nights and Channel Ten on Thursday nights.
