Netflix Drops Bleak New Trailer for Black Mirror Season Four
Netflix have just dropped the first trailer for an episode in Black Mirror’s fourth season. From the looks of it, the not-so-far future looks pretty bleak.
The episode titled ‘Arkangel’, directed by Jodie Foster, covers a topic that strays from the insanely futuristic technology based episodes that have previously featured in Black Mirror. It looks more relatable and as if it could actually happen in the not so distant future. Overall, the episode looks like it’ll be rather confronting.
The story is based around a mother (portrayed by Rosemarie DeWhitt) who loses her daughter at the park for a short amount of time that send her into a complete downward spiral of paranoia. The solution the episode presents is taking the child to a creepy lab for a needle to the brain. The sterile take on child safety assures you that “The key to good parenting is control.”
Show producer Annabel Jones explained earlier this year that the episode is like, “An indie movie set in blue-collar America, even though we filmed it in Canada.” Explaining further, she revealed, “It follows a mother who has a young daughter and faces that perennial question of how to look after your child in an increasingly technical world; it taps into helicopter parenting.”
Further on the topic of helicopter parenting, Jones said, “This episode asks how do you be a responsible mother in a world in which you can be all-powerful and omnipresent? How do you exercise responsibility? How do you ensure you give your child independence in a world in which you can have a lot of control?”

Even though there is no release date set for the fourth season, it looks like we won’t be having to wait long!
