Lisa Wilkinson’s HUGE Channel 10 Payday

It has been a whirlwind of a 24 hours for Lisa Wilkinson after she made the shock announcement that she was leaving the Today Show after ten years on the Channel 9 program.

And if that wasn't surprising enough, news broke less than an hour later that Lisa would be signing on with a rival channel, Network Ten.

It was reported that Lisa and her manager had not been able to come to an agreement on a contract with the Nine Network after it was revealed that Karl Stefanovic, Lisa's co host, was being paid double the amount that she was receiving.

But this morning, after Ten announced that they had successfully signed the television star as a senior host on The Sunday Project, it was revealed that Lisa will now actually become the highest paid woman on Australian TV.

It is being reported that Lisa's annual paycheck will be in excess of $2 million dollars with her new contract with Network Ten.

Lisa made the announcement that she was leaving the Today Show via her Twitter account yesterday.

"I'm sad to say that today was my last day on the today show", she wrote on Twitter.

"I want to thank Channel Nine for the privilege of co-hosting the Today Show for the last ten years. I would particularly like to acknowledge my colleagues Karl, Sylvia, Georgie, Time Richard, Stevie and Natalia, as well as all the hard working producers and the entire team behind the cameras - every one of them has contributed to the incredible success of the show.

"Most particularly though I want to thank the Today Show audience who have been so supportive and incredibly loyal to me over the last decade. I can never thank you enough and I look forward to seeing you soon."

Other members of the Today Show took the opportunity to express their love for Lisa and to thank her for 10 years of hard work during the program this morning and on social media.
