Ian Thorpe Attends First Mardi Gras Since Coming Out!

Celebs were out and about for Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this weekend.

One notable celeb that made an appearance was Ian Thorpe - who attended the event for the first time since coming out in 2014.

Partying at the Belvedere Vodka Mardi Gras party in Paddington, Ian was joined by his model boyfriend, Ryan Channing, 26.

While the couple refused to be photographed together on entry, they looked very cosy at the event and strolling through Sydney the day before.

They even stole a cheeky kiss while shopping on Friday.

The appearance comes days after Thorpe, 33, made a public stand against bullying.

The Mardi Gras celeb action doesn't nearly end there, of course!

Singer turned Home and Away actress Samantha Jade was channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe while atop of a float - covered in sequins.

TBL Host Fiona Falkiner was also out and about - getting amongst the crowd.

Meanwhile Sophie Monk needed a police escort to get across the road - sharing a short clip to Instagram to show just how hectic the crowd was.

But it was all love from the fans.

Delta Goodrem also looked like an angel as she prepared for her appearance at Mardi Gras.

Real Housewives of Melbourne's Gamble Breaux marched with her step-son as a representative of Beyond Blue.

Out and proud athlete, Matt Mitcham, also had a blast as part of the Australian Olympic Team float, sharing this glittery Instagram snap at the end of the festival.

All in all it looks like all of the 300,000 revellers who turned up to celebrate had an amazing time all in the name of diversity and acceptance.
