Former Home And Away Star Diagnosed With Cancer
Former Home and Away starlet, Tessa James, has revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer.
Best known for her role as Nicole Franklin on the Aussie soap, the 23 year old is returning home from the US to undergo chemotherapy.
In a statement released to the Daily Telegraph, James and her husband, rugby league star Nate Myles, revealed the star had returned to the Gold Coast to start treatment.
"Former Home and Away actor, Tessa James today announced she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. She has returned home to the Gold Coast to be with her husband, Gold Coast Titans Co-captain, Nate Myles."
"Tessa will be undergoing chemotherapy over the next few months. Tessa and Nate would like to thank all for their well wishes and would ask for privacy during this very difficult time."
Fans have already taken to Instagram sending their well wishes under the star's last post which read "Today I am thankful".
Nate has also taken to Instagram sharing a pic of the pair on Sunday with Tessa sporting shorter hair.
The football star captioned the pic "Thanks for the breakfast convo #naaaaaaat @tessacharis #bayleaf'.
According to the Leukaemia Foundation around 550 people are diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in Australia each year.
While it can occur at any age, it is most common in adolescents and young adults.
Most famously, Delta Goodrem was also diagnosed with Hodgkin's at the age of 18.
