Kanye West Called Slavery A ‘Choice’ In Latest Insane Rant

Oh dear, we fear that Kanye West is losing his mind, that is to say that he actually had a grasp on it in the first place…

Not only has he been way too active on twitter, released some pretty out there new music and promoted his support for controversial President Donald Trump, but his latest rant has taken things to a whole new level of offensive and inappropriate content.

The rapper recently dropped by entertainment news site TMZ when they decided to do a live broadcast with him…obvs they didn’t realise the loose canon and unstable state of mind that Kanye is currently in when they made this decision.

Anywho, while speaking with interviewers Kanye decided to give his two cents on America’s dark history of slavery that primarily involved people of African or African American descent, claiming that it was a “choice” made by those forced to be slaves.

“For 400 years? That sound like a choice. Like, you was there for 400 years, and it’s all of ya’ll? It’s like we’re mentally in prison,” said Kanye. “I like the word ‘prison’, because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. It’s like, slavery - holocaust. Holocaust - Jews, slavery is blacks. Prison is something that unites us as one race - blacks and whites being one race.”

As West continued to tour through the TMZ offices while still on camera, he asked the staffers, “Do you feel that I’m being free and I’m thinking free?”

The silence in the room was overwhelming, until one person, TMZ staffer Van Lathan, stood up and told the rapper what he really thought about his out of touch comments.

“I actually don’t think you’re thinking anything. I think what you’re doing right now is actually the absence of thought,” said Lathan.

“Kanye, you’re entitled to your opinion, but there is fact and there is real-life consequences to everything you just said. While you are making music and living the life you’ve earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives.”

Kanye looked less than impressed at being challenged by someone, but that didn’t stop Lathan.

“We have to deal with the marginalisation that has come from 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice. Frankly, I’m disappointed, I’m appalled and brother, I am unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something, to me, that’s not real.”

But despite being shut down in impressive fashion, Kanye then took his opinions to Twitter.

Kanye has definitely taken things too far this time. But we are actually seriously concerned as the rapper has gone through a serious mental break down in the past.
